HMS Audacious
HMS Audacious is one of the finest ships in Amber's North fleet. Under the legendary Captain Tierny, she served with distinction in a variety of roles over the long years. Five years ago, she was a key element in the victory over the fleet of the traitor Prince Corwin. HMS Audacious was badly damaged in the battled and placed in drydock for refit and repair.
After the lengthy refit, HMS Audacious returned to service. She has been engaged in many battles throughout the Golden Circle in recent years. Dark forces out of Shadow have attacked Golden Circle realms with increasing frequency and ferocity. Amber's navy, still not recovered from the attack of the traitor Prince Corwin, has thus far kept the invaders out of Amber's own waters, but the enemy forces seem to grow ever stronger and bolder.
After a personal briefing before the Admiralty, Captain Tierny ordered HMS AUdacious to sea in the dead of night. Noble an diplomat Lord Cassius Byron Corrino joined the crew for the mission. HMS Audacious was to sail faster and farther than any ship of Amber before her. She must find the source of the attacks that plague the Golden Circle and Amber herself.
The Plot
Audacious survivors in a lifeboat follow a Chaos ship to Aurora. Aurora drives off the Chaos ship and takes the survivors on board. There's a lot about "following the blood" and people hearing voices. Cassius and Edmund seem to have special, i.e. royal, blood. Aurora sails through a scary tunnel, veers off into a land of harsh lights, and then to sand sea. Following the signs they believe to be leading them to Oberon, the crew raids a tower and rescues Prince Brand.
