The Duchess spends the morning teaching boys to read, and has lunch with Bishop Morgan, in which all sorts of not-quite-treason are whispered. The Dumas sisters chat and hire a bodyguard for Genvieve. O'Donovan and Ambrose conduct magickal experiments after which the Commodore battles EelsOfUnusualSize. Ambrose and Madeline take separate journeys in which witch-hunting assassins select the wrong victim and are lost at sea and Madeline loses a Great Aunt but gains a lake.
