Felicity Larson was eight years old when her grandfather took her to see Zorba, Baron and Misha, the famous trained tiger, bear and gorilla act in Vegas. After the show her grand daddy got them backstage to see the animalsand it was discovered that the little girl could communicate with the animals through psionic powers. Their trainer, Lord James Arthur Fellingsworth asked both Felicity and Ray back to their compound to meet the animals in their homes.

Due to her mutant psychic potential the animals were able to communicate with Felicity and took a liking to her. Lord James told the Larson family that she would be welcome to visit any time she liked. After school while other children were doing homework or playing with friends, Felicity was at the Fellingsworth Compound playing with her three friends: Zorba, the fierce tigress who has had the greatest bond with Felicity; Baron, the old bear, who acts like Felicity's crochety old uncle; and Misha, an ape philosopher, telepath and scientist who is among humans in order to study them. They told her their true purpose: Lord Fellingsworth had been a member of the brutal "Gentlemen's Party of Adventure and Acquisition," who traveled the wilds of the world together in order to kill, poach and maim animals for sport.After the G.P.A.A. killed the last manticore left on earth, the Animal Lords sent the trio after the men. Because of Lord Fellingsworth's penitent nature, he was spared in order to help the animals hunt down his former comrades. When Felicity was thirteen, the animals performed a ritual in order to grant a portion of their might to the young girl.

The nature of the her powers is determined by the path Felicity chooses, which animal she is closest with and how she uses her powers. Currently she is dominated by Zorba's prowess but in time perhaps she will grow into the gruff Baron's brawn or the smart Misha's mental might.
